We know you love our prints. We love them too, and we are pretty protective of them. Please note that each print that we sell is an original creation of ANOKHI and is protected under copyright laws around the world.
Legal issues aside, copying our prints is disrespectful to all of the Anokhi designers and the creativity, hard effort and loving care that goes into the creation of our products. It also disregards the very skilled craftspeople who painstakingly executed these prints at the high level of quality for which Anokhi is so well known. And besides, copying is just plain shameful and unethical.
Beware the impostor. There are, of course, people who don't listen to our sage warnings to respect Anokhi's intellectual copyright. The bazaar streets in Jaipur are full of cheap rip-offs of Anokhi prints (and you will even find people here in the USA who import these knock offs and sell them to unsuspecting folks). How can you tell the difference? The cotton is never as nice and dreamily soft, the colors are often a little weird, and the printing is sloppy. When things get really cheap, the "printing" isn't done by wooden blocks at all, but rather by screen, which produces a flatter, more uniform and less complex result. Anokhi, which means "unique," does not use screen printing.
Everything that you will find here is a genuine Anokhi product. We work closely with the Anokhi design team in Jaipur and have exclusive distribution rights in the United States. Please feel free to contact us for a list of approved Anokhi retailers in your area.
